Terms and Conditions

Tickets:
Tickets are non-refundable/ non- transferable. No refunds will be given for a missed departure- please advise your mobile number at the time of booking so that you can be contacted in the unlikely event that tours are delayed. If you are delayed or unable to make a tour through circumstances beyond your control, we may offer alternative time or date, but only if prior notice is given and at managements discretion.
 
Tour Departures:
Please report to our Customer Services representative no later than 15 minutes prior to the departure time of your booked tour. Seating cannot be reserved and is available on a first come, first serve basis.
 
Smoking:
Smoking, eating and drinking is NOT permitted on the vehicle.
 
Children:
An adult must accompany children aged seventeen (17) and under. There are no storage facilities on the vehicles therefore buggies are NOT permitted on board but can be left with our guide at your own risk.
Due to the length and nature of the tour we do not recommend children under the age of 3 to participate.
 
Lost Property:
Whilst every effort is made to return lost property, LONDON DUCKTOURS LTD cannot be held responsible for property left on the vehicle. Property found must be collected from our offices at 55 York Road, London, SE1 7NJ
 
Accident or Loss:
We do not accept any liability for loss, damage, delay, inconvenience or direct or consequential loss, however caused (except for death or personal injury) unless due to our employees’ negligence.
 
Refunds:
Refunds are only permitted for the following reasons: -
Low capacity (if an alternative time can not be agreed)
Bad weather that does not permit the tour to run
Tour is delayed MORE than one hour
The tour is partially completed (only 50% is these circumstances)
 
Tour Changes:
Each tour operates subject to sufficient demand, tours with a low capacity maybe cancelled without prior notice. We will offer you an alternative time slot at your convenience or a full refund
 
In the event of road conditions en-route prevent the tour as advertised being operated, every endeavor will be made to substitute an alternative route, but London Duck Tours Limited reserves the right to cancel or alter arrangements. Passengers can claim a full refund, change of date or gift voucher prior to tour commencing, if unhappy with change of routing due to reasons beyond our control (i.e. road closures / marches etc).
Tours may be subject to delays and duration longer than advertised due to road and river conditions, please take this point into consideration when choosing a time slot (especially if you have other arrangements planned).
 
General Conditions:
We may at our discretion, require any person to withdraw from any tour if we deem their behavior offensive of a nuisance to other passengers and we shall have no further liability.
 
All matters concerning this booking shall be subject to English Law.
 

Receiving Tickets

Please note that we do not issue tickets – you will be given a reference number, this is all you require to board – If booking on-line this will appear and can be printed out after the completion of your booking

Can I hire the vehicle exclusively?

Yes, please refer to HIRE A DUCK page

Do I need to book in advance?

It is highly recommended that you book in advance for weekends and school and public holiday periods

How long does the tour last?

Tour duration is approximately 75 minutes depending on traffic and may vary due to road or river conditions. You need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your departure time.

How often do the tours run?

Tours are dependent upon dusk and subject to demand. Weekday tours outside school / public holidays operate approximately every half hour to an hour and start at 10:30hrs. Weekends and school / public holidays run are every 15 minutes and start at 10:00hrs. 
  
Last tours (may vary slightly but this is a general guideline):- 
January - 15:00hrs, February -16:00hrs, March - 17:00hrs 
April up to and including September - 18:00hrs 
October - 16:30hrs, November - 15:00hrs, December - 14:30hrs

Do I have a tour guide?

Yes, there is a live guide on board giving an action packed commentary, providing an alternative and insightful view of London's history, plus fascinating facts and figures about the original D-Day vehicles themselves.

Do you travel in all weathers?

Yes we travel in all weathers except high winds and heavy snow. The decision regarding unsuitable weather conditions is made at the company's discretion. We will try our best to inform you prior to your arrival for the tour. In these circumstances you can rebook for another day or have a voucher valid for a year

What is the likelihood of a route change?

Tour duration and route may vary due to road or river conditions. We will try our best to inform you prior to your arrival for the tour or before your tour commences. Should you wish not to take the alternative tour, you can rebook for another day or have a voucher valid for a year

Do I need any special Clothing?

No, you will require your everyday outdoor clothing. In the summer months you may require a light jacket or cardigan as it can sometimes be cooler on the water.

Does the vehicle have a roof?

Yes, the vehicle is equipped with a permanent roof covering

Is there anywhere to eat around the departure point?

Yes there are plenty of places to eat.

     

How do I redeem vouchers?

You can only redeem London Duck Tours gift vouchers on line, please go to our tickets page. If you have a voucher from one of our agents, please follow the instructions on your confirmation letter.

Is it a Hop on Hop off?

Our tour starts and finishes in Chicheley Street and is a non stop tour

What is the capacity of the Vehicles?

Each vehicle seats 30 passengers; we have fleet of 6 vehicles and operate 5 at any one time, should you require more than 30 seats.

Are there refreshments on board?

No, we do not permit food or drink on the vehicle

Are you able to offer foreign language tours?

No at present we only do tours in English

Seating

Seating can not be reserved and we are unable to guarantee seats together.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

The tour is not suitable for those with impaired mobility and, as the vehicles are vintage, are not equipped for wheelchairs but should you be able to manage steps we are more than happy to keep your wheelchair in our office until after the tour or at our departure point BUT this is at the owners risk.

Can I take buggies on board?

The tour is not recommended for children under the age of 3 years but is subject to parent’s discretion. Buggies are not permitted on board due to lack of space but we are more than happy to keep your buggy in our office until after the tour or at our departure point BUT this is at the owner’s risk.

Can I take luggage on board?

Luggage is not permitted on board due to lack of space but we are more than happy to keep your luggage in our office until after the tour or at our departure point BUT this is at the owner’s risk.

Do I get wet?

You should not get wet but sometimes with a high tide and high winds you may experience some water spray off the Thames

What is the adult to child ratio for group bookings?

Please note that children and infants must always be accompanied by an adult.
Only 2 infants per tour will be permitted.

1 to 7   --  5 Children per 1 Adult
8 to 12   --  9 Children per 1 Adult
13 to 17 -- 12 Children per 1 Adult

What are the nearest transport links?

Our departure point is on Chicheley Street and  is located behind the London Eye between County Hall and the Shell Building, just off Belvedere Road and York Road.

By Tube
Nearest Tube:  Waterloo (Jubilee, Northern, Bakerloo lines).   Exit station and follow signs for the South Bank.  Our departure point is a short 5 minute walk away. Embankment station (Northern, Bakerloo, Circle, District lines) is a 10 -15 minute walk to the departure point, across the Thames via the Hungerford Bridge and head towards the London Eye. Turn left at The Eye and continue forward, crossing Belvedere Road into Chicheley Street.

By Rail
The closest rail station is Waterloo.  Our departure point is a short 5 minute walk away.  Take exit 6 for the South Bank and follow signs to The London Eye.  

By Bus
Any bus that goes to Waterloo or County Hall/St. Thomas Hospital – nearest bus routes are the RV1 and 76. Once you have disembarked head towards the London Eye.

By Boat

There are a number of services which stop off at the Millennium Pier.
