London Attractions

London, in our view the world’s best city, packed to the brim with wonderful stuff to do.  It is impossible to do it all, to see it all and to experience all there is to experience in this great capital of ours, but he’s a few highlights to help you plan your holiday, add something extra to your visit or perk up your next lunch hour!

As Dr Samuel Johnson famously said, in 1777, “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life…for there is in London all that life can afford.”

Love history – we’ve got 3000 years of it.

Travel back to the Bronze Age, Saxon and Tudor times or to Ancient Egypt and Rome with the astonishing international renowned collections of the British Museum. Take in one of the wonders of the Victorian era at the V&A museum – filled with costumes, furniture, art and artefacts it’s a real treasure trove of a place. The Science Museum offers an interactive look at centuries of scientific discovery  – the basement zone is perfect for younger ones.  After a roaring good time? The Natural History Museum holds one of the world’s best collections of recreated and real dinosaur skeletons, as well as a comprehensive collection of displays on the evolution of life on earth.

Art and architecture your thing?

We’ve got dozens and dozens of the world’s best art galleries, museums and historic houses all awaiting your visit.   Find your favourite old master at the National Gallery, or get inspiration for your next selfie at the National Portrait Gallery on Trafalgar Square. Take in the 1930s industrial architecture vibe and ground breaking art at the Tate Modern.  Wander the genteel Georgian squares of Bloomsbury and St James’s. Take in the soaring 21st century office towers in the City and the “String of Pearls” bridges that cross the mighty River Thames.

Fancy some fabulous food?

From Michelin starred top-notch establishments to five-napkin messy burgers with all the trimmings, there’ll be something that’s just perfect for your taste buds and pocket.  Maybe a six course lunch at La Gavroche? A classic Afternoon Tea at the Ritz?   A Balti curry in Brick Lane?  Baked goods and beers in Borough Market?  Ice cream sundaes at Fortnum and Mason?  The choice is just endless, always changing, always new – London really is foodie heaven.

Need to entertain the kids?

London Zoo, The London Eye, Sea Life Centre and  – for the brave – the London Dungeon can certainly add to a memorable visit for all the family.   The wow factor in London? In our view it’s the Royal Palaces – Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London and St James’s Palace must be on your to-do list.  You might even see The Queen herself speed by in her procession of cars if you’re really lucky!  And keep an eye out for the Prime Minister as you wander around past The Houses of Parliament in Westminster – the centre of political Britain.

Mindfulness in the midst of London

Something calmer? Experience the serenity of St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Lambeth Palace, the lavish green lawns and placid lakes of the Royal Parks, or perhaps a peaceful River Tour on one of our amphibious Ducks?

And we’ve still only scratched the surface – there’s still all shops in the world famous Oxford Street, Bond Street and Covent Garden to peruse.  The excitement of the latest musical blockbuster or the tense drama of a play in one of the many historic Theatres in London’s west end, or perhaps a visit to a classical concert or workshop at the cultural centres of the Barbican and South Bank.

Let the Duck to the walking
